Whenever I contacted times for subscription ,No body responds(for the pat 2 months) in a proper way.I’m interested for a 6 months subscription,while they are forcing me to take the 1 yr offer.I don’t understand what is going on here at times-chennai.If it goes like this,it will be vey difficult for times to get the penetration in chennai and It will definitely dilute the brand value of times..Hope, after seeing this higher authorities will take some appropriate steps.

It is hopeless service offeres by TOI. The advertisements read “Next change” – I feel it is better not to change. Without even starting the business the service is like this, I do not know what will happen later. Sincere suggestion do not go for this change, I have already SMSed 5 times on 58888 and calling the number 24317979 for past 10 days, but nobody is bothered to pick up.

As I recd. no responce till today ( 07.04.08 ), I contacted the same no. today. They told me that it was closed.

Although it was supposed to start from 14 th.. but due to your lack of delivery ,i couldn’t get even a single copy of times of india.. They have cheated me though. I signed up for TOI on behalf of my father and he has not received the paper for last two days. The flask is a dysfunctional metallic container. Thats all. Forget the gift. Even the paper is not being delivered yet. No one is answering the calls. I have placed a review comment on Mouthshut.com about this. Also have sent mails to them. No response.
My order was placed on Feb 1st (order no: 2019326.). My father was a steadfast against changing from Deccan Chronicle to TOI. I convinced him to change as I subscribe to it at Mysore.
So much for customer service.

This is not at all toterlable.. Me too booked for 1 year subscription, and I haven’t got a single message or paper from the company. I feel really embrassed. Calling them 24317979 is hell.. u can even get a call to speak with Pepsi UMA.. but this is very difficult.
I have already sent two mails and a reminder, still haven’t got any response. If this prevails for long.. Then they have to face the court for cheating the customers.

I tried them calling to the number that i mentioned in this thread. But still i’m not getting anyone on line. FYI – This is not a blog owns to times of india. I sent an email to times of india about all your queries. Yet, no reply.
Lets hope we’ll get resolved with this problem asap.

Disheartening to note such poor customer service from supposed to be such a reputed Newspaper introduced in Chennai …..
None of the phone numbers given are operative and no response to the one I got from the Directory Enquiry also. Dialled to some extension No. and finally managed to get the Agent Number. There again, the Agent says my Order No. is not in the list – though I have subscribed for one year and got all the coupons. Haven’t got a single issue from 14th to-date. Hoping I may be getting it from tomorrow!!!

I have subscribed for Times of India for One Year on January itself and they assured me that they will deliver the paper from April 14th onwards…I really surprised when the paper boy pressed my calling bell on April 14th and delivered the paper. So, I thought that I will be getting the paper on daily basis from next day onwards.. But, I didn’t get the paper from very next day onwards…I am still searching/trying to reach the times of india , The telephonoe number which they gave us is always with engaged tone..
I really feel irritated and now I feel why I subscribed for Times of India…it is a really a bad experience for me with times of india …

The Times Of India person promised me that I will get the news paper regularly from April 14th onwards, but till now I have got the news only for 5 days out of 15 days that also past one week I have not got a single news paper. Is this is the manner to service to the customer, this is my third complaint mail I am sending to you with lot of frustrations. I have register for the times of india 6 months subscription offer on 17th april 2008 with number :24092 and 24122 and iam eligible to get the paper at my address from 01-05-2008 but till date i have not received any new paper and i called up to the executive (k chandra shekar —-conatct number –9347589207) who has approached to me for this offer and he taken my address that reconfirmed on 02-05-2008 that i will be getting the paper at my address on 02-05-2008 which i have not received till date.
Today on 3-05-2008 i again taken the pain of calling the executive for not receiving the paper at my address but by seeing my contact number he as switched off his mobile.
called up to the times of india on today at 10.30 i spoke to sarvya on 23355335 extn no.4223 and she has confirmed my address and all my details and he said that i will be getting the paper from 04-05-2008 with out fail.
i want to know that after paying full amount for 6months subscription why i have to suffer for all this and why i have to waste my money by calling the exective and how the times of india is going to compensate the same
I request times of india to return my amount and cancel this officer if they are unable to deliver the same.
Kindly let me know by when i will get the paper and when i this issue going to solve.

On 4th of may i got a call from 040-23351296 at 11.38 and she confirmed that she is calling from times of india and informed me that i will be receiving the paper from tommorow ie(05-05-2008) but even today i have not recieved the same i dont know when the tommorow comes to times of india.Iam back of this people from 5 days even then their is not reponse.
please suggest me how to get the paper from times of india is they any possiblity where i can logged the legal compliant against same as the times of india or their representatives are cheating the public by giving the false promise of delivering the paper for which i have already paid the 6months amount in advance.

maybe they have a service for those who have subscribed and have not got the paper delivered. please call them and ask them if they can read out the news to you on the days they don’t deliver the paper!

I have booked through by mobile. None of the personnel contacted for the booking.
irrespective of that i have booked through my delivery boy by paying the money and started receiving the paper from april 14 but at the end of the month i have asked the free gifts and the coupons. immediately he told that the offer is closed, then the paper money has been deducted from my advance and balance has been given back.

The whole pre paid subscription is a fraud and fiasco. The staff at their Nandanam Chamiers Rosd office are totally useless and thoroughly inefficient. Their staff like Sanjay and Lakshmanan from Circulation Dept made promises but when it comes to delivery of services they are zilch. What a useless and incompetent organisation this TOI- Shame on you guys Absolutely good for nothing. Hi friends,
I have taken the 6 months subscription from Times of India on January. My subscription no. is 1000342.
But still i didn’t get any paper from them. I sent more than 15 mails and more than 10 times i called them. Always they will give the reply as within oneday they will solve. But i don’t know what is the meaning for one day according to Times of India Standards. They are testing my patience. Friends now you can judge the service of Times of India organisation. I paid Rs.170 and again i spent Rs.100 for mails and calls. Also i wasted my time for these thing. Really waste service.

NICE OFFER. JUST POCKET THE GIFT AND FORGET THE PAPER. I PURCHASED ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION OF TOI AND GOT IT FOR A FEW WEEKS. NOW THERE IS NO DELIVERY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. I HAVE SENT SEVERAL E MAILS TO THEM, THEY ASSURE BUT DO NOTHING. HOW SAD AND TRAGIC.

In Chennai it more or less turns out to be a farce. I made an enquiry over SMS and also over phone. I was contacted in 2-3 days and the Customer Care person took all the details. This was in mid Jun 2008. Now 1-1/2 months have passed and no sign of any one calling me. They told I would receive a coupon gift and then the paper will come thru my news agent. They also collected my news agent name.
It seems that they have not even contacted this news agent even over phone.
To my surprise they even now say that I never ever contacted them in the first place! Looks like they lost all data of selected customer (I mean prospective customers!)
Please dont fall in the trap Afterall the TOI may only be doing an Advt excercise to promote awareness- nort really bothered to serve customers!.

i ve registered my name with this number for an annula subscription it is 24317979.
its been a week that none of the marketing executives ve turned up.
this makes me wonder for a business to start up in a conservative chennai for whether it would survive long.
hope they maintain a good marketing and sales network. so that i dont keep calling up TOI for me not receiving my paper after a month or so.
hope TOI is jus not seeing the market response and its jus digging its own grave.

i subscribed for 1 year plan. 2 month back i requested for address change. Till now I am not getting the news paper neither in the old address nor in new address. Every time when i call the customer care they will tell within 24 hr they will rectify. Nothing happened till now. So please don’t believe in 1 year subscription.

Hellow Sir,
I had subscibed TOI by paying Rs.299/ for one year term starting from 20-08-2008. after supplying the paper for about a month , the paper boy was insisting for the subscription coupon which unfortunately is misplaced. I had requested the paper boy to bring the local agent (his boss) to discuss the issue. the local agent namely Mr.EZHUMALAI of Pallikaranai visited our home and asked us to give it in writting about the misplacement of coupon. Accordingly we gave it in writting the same and requested to continue the supply of news paper. We were supplied with news paper upto 17-10-2008 and stopped the same since then. When I asked the paper boy (who is a new boy now) today , he infromed me that “Mr.EZHUMALAI has asked him to stop the supply of newspaper to me, that is why he has not supplied the same from 17-10-2008”. I am unable to contact Mr.EZHUMALAI either in phone or in person. Kindly verify the facts of my subscription of your paper and order him to supply the news paper immediatley.

i subscribed for teh times of india 1 yr subscription by paying 299.
the paper boy used to give the papers regularly but never turned up to collet the coupons.
by mistake i missed the coupons.
the delivery boy turned up one fine day after 4 monmths and started demandning the coupons which i have already lost.
he further added that i have to pay for the 4 months if i am not able to produce the coupons.
is there any way to get back duplicate coupons.
i dont remember my subscription number also.
Can anyone give a solution to this. it would be a great help.

Iam residing at No.26 LIC Colony, East Tambaram, Chennai-59 Mobile 9443100777. I have paid Rs. 299/- through online for the renewal of Times of India Newspaper and the new order number is NAA082299 (111322102). But till date, I have not received my gift and Voucher coupon despite repeated phone reminders. I am getting my newspaper daily but when they ask for coupon, how could I settle to them. Since no steps have been taken sofar and creates mental agony, I hope this complaint will restore without any undue delay. I hope the management will take stringent action against the erring official and save the company image pl.

Hi,
We have subscribed for 6 months initially and then for 1 year. Now, 1 week back one person called me and asked me to subscribe. I agreed and paid Rs.300/-. He gave me the receipt alone but he did not give me the coupons to give to my newspaper supplier. He told me that the bar code on the receipt is sufficient. But when I showed it to the news paper supplier, he says he will not accept that and he needs the coupons. I again called that person and asked for the coupons but he says he discussed in the Times of India office and they asked me to change the vendor for us. Upon insisting, he gave us an old sheet which does not have the bar code. He has changed the date from 2007 to 2009 and gave us. When asked, he says the bar code was taken by the Times of India office. I am very sure that some people are cheating public in the name of Times of India. Our news paper supplier also confirmed the same. Please take action otherwise your name will be spoiled. His name is Mani and mobile number is : 9043443280. Thanks.

I subscribed for Times of India Offer for One Year starting from April. The service is horribly bad – I received the newspaper for about 3 months – that too in a rather irregular manner.
Since the last 2 months I have not received a single copy.Repeated phone calls / e-mails to the TOI office have resulted in fake assurances that I will begin to receive the newspaper again within 48 hours.
I feel very irritated and wonder why I subscribed for this TOI offer…its been a very bad experience with Times of India …

I subscribed for TOI for an year on 11-11-2009 and paid the fee though cheque, which has already been cashed by you. I am yet to see the TOI in my home. It is annoying, even after 4-5 phone calls to your office, to get false promises. TOI will fail if it misses committments. Now I feel I should have stuck with ‘The Hindu’ a truely professional and ethical org. Totally displeased with your irresponsible attitude.
